Habari Malkia wa Kidigital!
This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating progress, calling out the gaps and turning up the volume on real action. Around the world, people are showing up for women in big and small ways and this year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” hits home.
Here’s what it means to us: when we give our time, our knowledge, our mentorship and our support, everybody wins. Giving isn’t about charity, it’s about opening doors, pulling up a chair, sharing the Wi-Fi password and saying “Dada, you belong here.” When women are given real opportunities, communities don’t just benefit, they level up.
Now let’s talk about tech
In ICT, the gender gap is still very real.
18%. And while that reflects a broader global challenge, we’re not here to shrug and say “it is what it is.” We’re here to fix it
When we dug deeper, we saw why the number is low.
Many women are primary caregivers. Fixed schedules didn’t always work. Some course structures unintentionally excluded women who needed flexibility.
The truth? Access isn’t just about offering a course. It’s about designing it around real life that means school runs, side hustles, family responsibilities and all.
And that’s where we step in, not just as educators, but as cheerleaders
For our Non-IT Queens, we focus on digital confidence. Our training covers:
- Digital awareness
- Using computers and mobile devices effectively
- Creating digital content
- Online communication and collaboration
- Digital safety and security
And yes, we’re bringing AI into the chat. You’ll get a solid introduction to modern AI, learn how it works and most importantly, how to use it as your assistant. From understanding AI tools to crafting powerful prompts, we equip you to navigate today’s digital world with confidence. No tech background? No problem. We’ve got you.
For our IT Queens, we’re all about levelling up. Our hands-on, gender-responsive program helps women grow in advanced ICT specializations and increase their value in the global tech ecosystem.
The training runs in two cohorts:
- Entry-level certification
- Associate-level certification
Within each level, you choose your lane: Cybersecurity or Networking. Two powerful domains. Real-world skills. Industry-recognized certifications. The kind that opens doors and upgrades careers.
But here’s the real shift
Under the spirit of “Give to Gain,” we’re committing to give more intentionally, more flexibility, more understanding and more support. That means rethinking timetables, exploring adaptable learning formats and creating safe, empowering spaces where women can show up fully. It means mentorship. It means listening. It means designing with women, not just, for women.
We are pledging to increase that 18%. Significantly. Because the talent is there. The ambition is there. The brilliance is there. Our job? Make sure the structure supports it.
This Women’s Day, we’re not just celebrating women in ICT, we’re backing them. Loudly. Proudly. Consistently.
Give to Gain isn’t just a theme. It’s our energy
When we give women the tools, the support and the space to grow. We all gain innovation, resilience, stronger communities and a future shaped by brilliant digital queens.
And to every woman reading this: We see you. We believe in you. And we’re building this with you.
Together we want to say, Dada, you belong here.
